Research Rangahau

Our research library and archives are open by appointment between 10am and 4pm Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays. Enquiries are welcome. 

Along with significant documentary and photographic archives, and artefact collection relating to the social history of Kororareka Russell, it is also guardian to family histories and genealogies of the early families of Kororāreka Russell and Īpipiri. 

Research assistance by Museum Staff is at an initial cost of $10 for the first half hour. A fee to cover time may be charged after this – please discuss with our staff.  

If you can’t visit Russell Museum to research, don’t worry, we can research for you. Our research fees are nominal, as are our copy, scanning and photo printing services. Please email us or call ahead to 09 4037701 for an appointment or alternatively ask us to carry out research on your behalf. We look forward to helping you.

Additional donations of information for our archives are always welcome so that we may share this knowledge with others.
